EDEN...

We're called that as a reference to "the Garden of Eden" - a place where God had fellowship with man.

Church should be a place where we meet with God in a special way, don't you think?  A hundred voices raised in song can really evoke a feeling of praise; having people genuinely greet you and reach out with a smile is a hint of how God wants His family to work; listening to the Word of God lifts us up ... challenges us too - but it's good to be in a church where there will be someone you can 'thrash' a thought out with. 

Most of all, you can be sure that God is there.  Oh, but He's everywhere, you say?  True, but most of the time we are getting on with life and with a mind half on something else you won't find yourself praising, listening, befriending, absorbing, in such a focused way.  And anyway, it is so good to know that He's attending His own meeting - imagine if a church was the sort of place that God wanted to take His Spirit out of?  We lift the importance of Prayer, not just to ask, but to hear... hear and try to fulfill what God is wanting our church to do.
